Wing Cook-off Guidelines

Think you have the best HOT WINGS in the Tennessee Valley - Here’s your chance to prove it! Load’em up and heat’em up because its showdown time at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. This years RESTAURANT DIVISON will show who’s really scared to show their wings. Do your friends brag about being the best backyard chef in town, challenge them to prove they are the King of Wings in our OPEN DIVISION.

Award Categories:

  • King of Wings Open - Judges Choice
  • King of Wings Restaurant - Judges Choice
  • Best Presentation  - Judges Choice
  • Hottest Wings  - Judges Choice

Entries Judged on taste, texture, & appearance with the most emphasis on taste.

Each contestant must prepare a 12 Wing Presentation Platter. 

The platter must consist of a greenbase and 12 wings.  Fresh fruit, vegetables, and etc can be placed on the platter to accent wings. 

Platter presentation must be prepare on site.

Entry platters will be furnished by the Literacy Council and can be picked up at 5:00 PM

Make sure when you register to mark if you would like to servewings the day of the cookoff to ensure you have booth space.

Cookoff will be held atLincoln County Fair Grounds Exhibit Building.

Platter preparation will start at 5:00 PM in the Women’s Building with Turn In being 5:30 PM. For those who have booth space you may pick up your platter at 5:00 PM and make preparation in your booth.

Hottest Wings Are Judged on the Pepper Scale

1 Pepper: Mild

2 Peppers: A Comfortable Zing

3 Peppers:  Hot

4 Peppers:  Very Hot

5 Peppers:  Ridiculous
